I've been thinking. Maybe it's about time for me to try challenging that Gym Leader. I think my team is more than strong enough, even if I use Bug types against his birds, and the sooner one of us beats him, the sooner the rest of us can.

[Hiro grimaces as the loud, cheesy, automated greeting finishes saying hello to the customer on the other end of his headset, his train of thought interrupted completely. For those watching over video, his outfit has changed completely. He's now wearing an Oddish-themed fast food uniform, complete with cheesy nametag and all. Even his everpresent headphones have been replaced with a headset, complete with leaves on either side to finish the ensemble.]

Can someone explain to me why there's even a drive-through lane here if there aren't any cars? Is the customer walking or something? [Hiro sighs.] I know I needed money, but I'm started to regret taking on such a--

[At this point, a trainer riding on a Dodrio walks up to the window Hiro has been standing next to, looking at Hiro expectantly.]

Hm, what did they want, then?

To not be subdued by those who bought them. Then they could kill them and summon more demons.

I didn't find out about that until the last day. And God had only talked to the government anyway, through His angels. They were going to kill everyone and everything in the affected zone to stop it.

Until then, it was just a demon outbreak. You did what you could to survive.

Nice to know the government is helpful and efficient in times of apocalypse.

So how did it turn out?

They were doing what they had to. One nation for the sake of the world.

[Hiro pauses. Silent for a few moments, then continues.] I decided that I would kill God.

Did I mention that your world sounds a bit odd?

That's what I say about most other worlds.

I guess it does sound pretty weird. I probably wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't lived it.

I was with you for the demon outbreak, but the bit where God sent them as some sort of...a test? sounds more like a literal interpretation of a story from a religious text.

Also, as a general rule, I don't think you're supposed to be able to kill gods.

That's the short version. You could say how we dealt with them was the test, and their appearing was inevitable, but either way...

You'd be surprised.

Well, it wouldn't be very good for gods if humans went around killing them all the time. Much harder to maintain divine mystery that way.

Humans aren't really able to do this kind of thing. You could say I'm a special case.

Or a fluke case.
