Most people won't see me as the hero when things are said and done.

From the context, it sounds like the alternative might be worse.

Then if what you're doing is the best alternative, it can't be all that terrible, at least in comparison.

I'd like to think so. The masses probably won't think that way.

Tokyo was under a lockdown during all of this, and even then, barely anyone has any idea. The existence of angels is supposed to be "top secret" as it is. The world? The rest of Japan? They probably have no idea.
